Islamabad (October 08, 2017) : Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday said that Pakistan and the United States are partners in war on terror.
The premier stressed during an interview, that US officials have appreciated our stance on Afghanistan during meetings. I did not observe a threatening undertone during meetings with US representatives, he said.

PM said general perception in Pakistan was that our efforts were unappreciated, and today, we are being scapegoated. We are active partners in the war on terror. No less than that, he added.
He added that the Pak-US relationship is not based on the Afghan-issue as the two countries share 70-year old diplomatic and military ties. Abbasi said that both countries will present their stances on different matters and try to reach a middle ground. 
Abbasi said that terrorist leadership has safe havens on Afghan soil from where it attacks Pakistan’s border areas.
Pakistan has clearly told Washington that no country could want durable peace in Afghanistan as much as Pakistan does. Afghan government has to deal with the issue and war is no solution to the issue.
