ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-India exchange of prisoner lists, according to a Foreign Office spokesman, the Pakistani government today shared with the Indian High Commission a list of 628 Indian prisoners in Pakistan, while 282 Pakistani nationals and 73 fishermen imprisoned in India.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the Pakistani government has shared with the Indian High Commission a list of 628 Indian prisoners in Pakistan, including 51 civilians and 577 fishermen. The Indian government has also handed over a list of 355 Pakistani prisoners in India to the Pakistan High Commission. There are 282 Pakistani citizens and 73 fishermen in India.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the details of the detainees were exchanged on May 21, 2008 under the Consular Access Agreement between Pakistan and India. Under the agreement, the two countries are required to exchange lists of detainees in each other’s custody twice a year.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the list of nuclear facilities was also exchanged between Pakistan and India annually. The list of nuclear facilities in Pakistan has been formally handed over to the Indian High Commission.
