Pakistan makes history with landmark diplomatic breakthrough

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan demonstrated a highly committed, sincere, and professional diplomatic effort, playing a key role in facilitating a ceasefire and bringing both sides to the negotiating table after decades.

These diplomatic engagements were led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, whose mediation role was acknowledged and appreciated by both parties.

The diplomatic process continued uninterrupted for nearly 31 hours, involving multiple rounds of discussions and high-level meetings.

Significant progress was made, and several positive developments emerged. However, the conflict remains complex and long-standing, with deep-rooted differences as well as external factors and challenges influencing the process.

Any outcomes whether achievements or limitations are ultimately tied to the internal dynamics and mutual positions of the two sides. Nevertheless, Pakistan played an exceptional role in promoting regional and global peace.

A statement by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance also reflected cautious optimism, referencing proposals put forward during the mediation process.

Both parties now have a clearer understanding of each other’s positions, which should serve as a foundation for future progress.

Pakistan has refrained from sharing details of the discussion as the process was conducted under strict confidentiality. Its role remained limited to facilitation, yet impactful in advancing dialogue.
