Pakistan military leaders vow unwavering commitment to protect national security

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s military leadership has reiterated their unwavering dedication to defending the nation’s sovereignty, combating terrorism, and maintaining internal stability. In a strong statement, the Armed Forces assured they remain resolute in their efforts to eliminate threats to the country’s security.

Pakistan Day, observed annually on March 23, commemorates the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940, when the All-India Muslim League called for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims in British India. Marking the 86th anniversary of this pivotal moment, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism and extremism. It highlighted the coordinated efforts of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and the Pakistani people to uphold national security.

The ISPR reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to defending Pakistan’s borders, protecting its sovereignty, and maintaining internal peace against all forms of aggression and terror threats.

Leading the nation’s celebrations, senior military officials including Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu praised the resilience and patriotic spirit of the Pakistani people in their messages of congratulations.

Recalling the significance of March 23, 1940, the statement described it as a pivotal milestone that laid the groundwork for an independent Pakistan, symbolizing the collective vision and resolve of the Muslim community in the subcontinent.

The armed forces emphasized that Pakistan continues to advance under democratic principles, driven by faith, hope, and perseverance. The nation remains committed to strengthening institutions and improving the lives of its citizens.

In a broader international context, the ISPR highlighted Pakistan’s role as a responsible global partner advocating for peace, stability, and cooperation across the world.

The statement also addressed recent military operations, noting Pakistan’s response to unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban, which resulted in the elimination of over 700 Taliban and TTP militants, as well as the destruction of key Afghan infrastructure.

Furthermore, Pakistan announced a temporary pause in Operation Ghazab lil-Haq against terrorists, in observance of Eid ul Fitr, demonstrating the nation’s respect for religious festivities and commitment to peace.
