RAWALPINDI: In a prompt and coordinated effort, the Pakistan Navy, in collaboration with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), has rescued all 20 crew members from a cargo dhow that was sinking east of Ormara due to heavy flooding.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement confirming that the rescue operation was launched immediately after receiving a distress call through the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre. The naval vessel PNS HUNAIN, along with aerial support, was deployed to assist in the rescue.
Thanks to the professionalism and swift action of the rescue teams, every crew member was safely retrieved from the distressed vessel, the ISPR added. The recovered personnel are now receiving necessary medical care.
The military’s communication wing emphasized that this successful operation highlights the Pakistan Navy and PMSA’s strong dedication to maritime safety and their preparedness to respond effectively to emergencies at sea at any time.
