LAHORE: The Pakistan Navy’s 8th Maritime Security Workshop successfully concluded at the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore.
The event was attended by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, who was the distinguished Chief Guest. In his keynote speech, he emphasized the immense potential of Pakistan’s blue economy and highlighted the increasing strategic significance of oceans in today’s global landscape.
He praised the Pakistan Navy for its crucial role in maintaining regional maritime stability and protecting national maritime interests. The Chief Guest also underscored the importance of developing Pakistan’s shipping and fishing industries to bolster economic growth and socio-economic progress.
Upon his arrival, Gilani was received by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff. The Commandant of the PN War College provided an overview of the workshop’s agenda and activities.
This annual event brings together a diverse group of participants, including lawmakers, policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, military officers, and media personnel, with the goal of fostering a deeper understanding of maritime security issues and the shifting dynamics within the Indian Ocean region.
