ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways’ freight division has achieved a remarkable milestone in the first half of the fiscal year, generating over Rs17 billion in revenue.
Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi praised the management for their excellent performance and expressed optimism that freight earnings could surpass Rs38 billion by year’s end if the current trend persists. Additionally, he revealed plans for phased upgrades to all train services by the end of this year, aiming to offer passengers a safer, more comfortable, and modern travel experience. Abbasi emphasized that ongoing reforms are set to continue at full speed, with the goal of transforming Pakistan Railways into a financially robust, passenger-centric, secure, and contemporary organization.
