Pakistan Railways is set to introduce 100 new coaches

LAHORE: A meeting led by Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, resulted in several significant decisions aimed at enhancing railway services nationwide.

During the session, a comprehensive briefing was provided on train punctuality, causes of delays, and plans for outsourcing the cargo express service.

The minister instructed the addition of 100 new coaches to the railway system by December to improve passenger facilities. Furthermore, efforts to address engineering obstacles on the Lahore-Rawalpindi railway line were prioritized, setting a one-month deadline for their resolution. This initiative is expected to decrease travel time and increase train speeds on this route.

The meeting also reviewed the functionality of running rooms and approved constructing 10 new rooms. Renovation and construction work for these facilities are set to commence in November.

The Federal Minister expressed satisfaction with the performance of the commercial management division of the Railways and emphasized that these steps would enhance overall railway services.

These initiatives aim to make train travel more efficient, safe, and comfortable for passengers while raising the operational standards of the railway network.
