ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has projected that Pakistan Railways will achieve revenue of Rs160 billion by the end of the current fiscal year.
Addressing the Pakistan Tourism Festival in Islamabad, he said the department had earned more than Rs100 billion during the previous financial year.
The minister highlighted ongoing initiatives to modernise railway services, upgrade trains and improve operational efficiency, adding that the entire railway system had been digitised.
He also underlined the importance of Pakistan Railways in promoting the country’s tourism industry, saying the railway network could help showcase Pakistan’s diverse tourist destinations and natural attractions.
