ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dismissed Indian claims of targeting the Golden Temple, a sacred site of Sikhs, in Amritsar.
The FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan explicitly stated that, Pakistan cannot even conceive of targeting a holy site like the Golden Temple. The Indian accusations are baseless and unacceptable.
The spokesperson further said that, India itself targeted places of worship in Pakistan during the intervening nights of May 6 and 7.
Pakistan is the guardian of sacred sites for the Sikh religion. Every year, thousands of Sikh pilgrims visit Pakistan, and Pakistan provides visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims through the Kartarpur Corridor, spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan
The spokesperson added that, Indian allegations aim to divert attention from its own condemnable actions.
