Lahore (October 30, 2017: Pakistan has released 68 Indian prisoners as a goodwill gesture from prison.
The prisoners were released from Karachi’s Landhi prison who were brought to Lahore to be repatriated via Wagha Border.

The prisoners were given five thousand rupees each.
Meanwhile, in a statement today, the Foreign Office said Pakistan has released the prisoners as a goodwill gesture on humanitarian grounds.
These prisoners who are fishermen, were held for inadvertently crossing into Pakistani waters.
Earlier, Pakistan also released two Indian civil prisoners on 13th of this month.
Pakistan has always maintained that humanitarian issues should be facilitated and not politicized, it added.
