Pakistan releases hajj 2026 flight schedule: over 468 flights to transport pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs of Pakistan has announced the official flight schedule for Hajj 2026, with the first departure set for April 18, 2026. A total of 468 flights will facilitate the transportation of Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia under the government Hajj scheme.

Initial flights will originate from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan, marking the start of a 34-day operation. On the first day, four flights will carry pilgrims to Madinah, with the operation concluding on May 21, 2026. Flights to Jeddah will begin on May 4, while the first dedicated flight to Madinah is scheduled for May 7.

Approximately 119,000 pilgrims, including 67,230 men and 51,846 women, will participate in the pilgrimage, traveling to the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah. During the early days of Hajj, most pilgrims will be flown directly to Madinah, with 186 flights landing there and 282 arriving in Jeddah.

The operation will involve four airlines: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Airblue, AirSial, and Saudi Airlines, operating from eight key cities across Pakistan. Islamabad will host 129 flights, Karachi 124, Lahore 104, Multan 34, Sialkot 26, Faisalabad 23, Quetta 18, and Sukkur 5.

This extensive schedule aims to facilitate a smooth and organized pilgrimage for Pakistani Muslims heading to the holy sites in 2026.
