ISLAMABAD: Pakistani forces killed around 15 to 20 Afghan Taliban and terrorists while foiling their coordinated attacks at four different locations early in the morning in Spin Boldak area of Chaman in Balochistan.
“In the early hours of October 15, the Afghan Taliban resorted to a cowardly attack at four locations in the Spin Boldak area of Balochistan. The attack was effectively repulsed by Pakistani forces,” the military’s media wing stated.
The ISPR said the Taliban carried out their assaults through divided villages in Spin Boldak, disregarding the safety of civilians.
The statement added that the Afghan Taliban also destroyed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side, which ISPR said reflects their attitude toward trade and transit rights of tribes that live across the border.
While repelling the attack, Pakistani forces killed 15-20 Afghan Taliban and wounded many more, ISPR reported. “The situation is still developing. There are reports of further build-up in staging points of Fitna Al Khwarij and Afghan Taliban,” it added.
Tensions between Islamabad and Kabul are rising. Pakistan has repeatedly asked Afghanistan to stop militant groups, including the TTP, from using Afghan soil.
The porous 2,500-kilometre border, multiple crossing points, and cross-border tribes make the situation harder.
