WEB DESK: Pakistan has made a significant milestone in industrial development, a recognition that is being acknowledged by the international community, Pakistan will chaired 53rd session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
A reflection of this trust is Pakistan’s election as the chair of the 53rd session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kamran Akhtar, will preside over the session. This marks the first time Pakistan will lead this organization.
Today, Pakistan officially assumed its new responsibilities as the chair of the UNIDO board. This includes overseeing ongoing and planned projects worth $350 million in Pakistan.
Diplomatic sources regard this decision as a major milestone in Pakistan’s industrial progress and an acknowledgment of the country’s achievements on the global level.It is worth noting that earlier in June, Pakistan was appointed as the chair of the UN Security Council committee responsible for monitoring sanctions on the Taliban, as well as serving as the deputy chair of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee.
Additionally, Pakistan has been appointed as the informal working group co-chair on documents (IWG) within the UN Security Council, as well as a co-chair of the recently established informal working group on sanctions
