WEB DESK: Pakistan claimed an eight-wicket win over the West Indies on the final day of the second and concluding Test at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad, leveling the series on Wednesday. After suffering a 90-run defeat in the opening Test last week, the visitors set a modest target of just 75 runs, which they comfortably reached after the hosts — already under pressure after their second innings — were dismissed for 117, half an hour into the day’s play.
Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Azan Awais fell early to pacers Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph, but captain Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique stabilized the innings. Babar demonstrated his match-winning form by hitting consecutive sixes off spinner Jomel Warrican to close out the game.
This result mirrors Pakistan’s 2021 Caribbean campaign, where they also turned around a first-match loss to win the second at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. The two teams will meet again in Pakistan in January 2025 for a two-match series, which currently stands at 1-1.
