Pakistan seeks lasting peace in the region; war is not the solution, Bilawal Bhutto

BRUSSELS: Pakistani Parliamentary delegation leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated that Pakistan desires peace, and that there is no military solution to the Kashmir issue and terrorism; diplomacy and negotiations are the only solutions.

He emphasized that, there is no military solution to the Kashmir dispute or terrorism; instead, diplomacy and negotiations are the effective ways to resolve these issues.

Bilawal Bhutto mentioned that, Pakistan has offered to conduct a transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident, but India has refused to accept this offer. He further stated that Pakistan is committed to peace and desires to reduce tensions in the region through dialogue, as India is escalating tensions by refusing to engage in negotiations.

He highlighted that, India is using water as a weapon, attempting to provoke Pakistan by threatening to cut water supplies. Bilawal Bhutto stressed that Pakistan believes in comprehensive negotiations, and if talks do not happen, tensions in the region will increase.

He also noted that, recent days have seen an increase in tensions between the two countries, and the Kashmir issue has been discussed at the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan has made it clear that it is ready to participate in any transparent investigations. Bilawal Bhutto also mentioned that while war between Pakistan and India has ended, peace has not yet been established, and Pakistan has condemned Israel’s attack on Iran, as we cannot afford a third world war.
