Pakistan sets target of screening 165 million people for hepatitis C till 2030 under PM program: Kamal

Islamabad: A major headway reported in eradication of the lethal disease Hepatitis C from the country as Pakistan has set a target of screening as many as 165 million people till 20230 under the Prime Minister Program.

A vital meeting was held at the Ministry of health in the chair of Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal.

The meeting was held for the eradication of the Hepatitis C with the cooperation of the Ministry of health, World Health Organization and other partners.

The Health Minister said that Pakistan among few countries where the spread of hepatitus C has become a challenge on the international level.

Syed Mustafa Kamal said that the government are taking full measures for tackling the challenge.

He apprised that the national PM program for the eradication of the Hepatitis has been started which is aimed at screening a whopping sum of 165 million people and providing free treatment who appear positive in the process.

He urged that the purpose of the government not only treatment but keeping people safe from diseases are also the top priority of the government.

He said that it is not only an opportunity but is a promise and a mission.
