Berlin: Financial Action Task Force (FATF) President Dr Marks on Friday appreciated role of Pakistan in fulfilling conditions set by the FATF.
Dr Marks was addressing press briefing after Financial Action Task Force (FATF) preliminary meeting, in capital of Germany, Berlin concluded.
Regarding Pakistan, he said that Pakistan in the last two years completed all the conditions set by the FATF while praising the Pakistani efforts he said that Pakistan by implementing all the terms of the FATF showed its responsibility.
The FATF President said that the financial body reviewed five times anti-terrorism related measures taken by Pakistan in the last two years.
Dr Marks said that the global pandemic coronavirus effected the targets of the FATF.
The declaration issued after conclusion of the FATF preliminary said that Pakistan has completed two action pland based on 34 items. The FATF team will visit Pakistan for verifying the completing of the conditions.
The FATF said that Pakistan has completed reforms regarding money laundering and preventing funding to terrorism.
Sources said that an FATF team will visit Pakistan to remove it from FATF grey list.
Sources further added Pakistan got onsite visa of the FATF while the FATF team will visit in August this year.
After the FATF visit the performance report of the country will be presented. The FATF will remove Pakistan from its grey list on the basis of onsite team report.
Sources said that the announcement will be made to remove Pakistan from grey list in October this year or in February next year.
