LAHORE: Pakistan will release the captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Kumar as a “peace gesture” as stated by the Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday in a joint parliamentary session.
According to details, Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Kumar Singh will return back home to India today accompanied by officials of the Indian High Commission via Wagah border.
During the joint-parliamentary session that took place yesterday (Thursday), Premier Imran Khan revealed his decision in parliament, saying that Pakistan will release the captured Indian pilot to de-escalate tensions with India.
Earlier on 27th February, Pakistan Air Force shot down two IAF fighter jets who crossed Line of Control and entered Pakistani airspace. One jet fell into India-held Kashmir and other in Azad Kashmir.
Abhinandan Kumar was caught by the residents when his jet fell in Azad Kashmir and later, got seized by Pakistan Army.
