ISLAMABAD: The National Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has announced that over 45 million children will be safeguarded from lifelong disabilities through the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.

To achieve this, more than 400,000 frontline health workers are actively participating in the effort. In Punjab alone, over 23 million children will receive the oral polio vaccine.

In Sindh, the campaign aims to immunize more than 16 million children, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the target exceeds 7.2 million. In Balochistan, more than 2.6 million children are set to receive the vaccine.

Additionally, over 460,000 children in Islamabad will be vaccinated, alongside more than 228,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the campaign plans to immunize over 760,000 children.

EOC emphasized the importance of parental cooperation to ensure the success of the campaign. Parents are urged to facilitate vaccination efforts and complete the full immunization schedule for all children from birth up to 15 months of age without delay.
