Pakistan to Restart Sending Skilled Workers to Kuwait Following Visa Ban Lift

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) announced on Monday that Pakistan will resume dispatching skilled workers to Kuwait. This move comes after Kuwait earlier this year lifted a 19-year-old visa ban on Pakistani nationals.

In May, Kuwait officially ended its longstanding restrictions, allowing Pakistanis to apply for work, family, business, and tourism visas. The ban, originally imposed due to security concerns, also affected nationals from Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Every year, thousands of Pakistanis pursue employment abroad, especially in Gulf nations, Europe, and North America. The remittances they send back are crucial for Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, particularly during the country’s ongoing economic difficulties.

According to official sources, the Overseas Employment Corporation—an agency operating under the OP&HRD Ministry—will now facilitate the deployment of Pakistani skilled workers to Kuwait once again. The statement highlighted that Pakistan has historically exported its skilled labor to Kuwait.

Available job opportunities in Kuwait include warehouse supervisors (with a maximum age limit of 35), requiring a diploma or bachelor’s degree, fluency in English, and strong customer service skills. Candidates should also have experience working in retail warehouses or logistics firms.

Other roles include warehouse coordinators, warehouse workers, carpenters, unskilled laborers, assistant furniture workers, and drivers. The deadline for submitting application documents is August 15, 2025.

Pakistan and Kuwait have enjoyed cordial diplomatic relations since establishing formal ties in October 1963, with cooperation spanning multiple sectors
