Pakistan, Turkey commit to strengthening defense relations as Turkish Air Force Chief visits Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A high-ranking Turkish delegation, headed by General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Commander of the Turkish Air Force, paid a visit to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The delegation was warmly welcomed, including a Guard of Honour presented by a well-drilled PAF contingent, reflecting the strong camaraderie between the two nations.The discussions focused on the changing regional security landscape, ongoing defense cooperation, and opportunities for collaboration in emerging domains of modern warfare. The meeting aimed to deepen mutual understanding and explore new avenues of joint engagement.Upon arrival, the Turkish Air Force Commander was honored with a Guard of Honour by a PAF contingent, symbolizing the friendly ties between the two air forces.

During the meeting, Pakistan’s Air Chief highlighted the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Turkey, rooted in shared religious values, common aspirations, and strategic interests that continue to strengthen their bond.He emphasized the significance of the arrival of the first batch of Turkish cadets at the PAF Academy Asghar Khan for training, marking a pivotal milestone in the enduring alliance between the two air forces.

This development signifies a new chapter in their defense collaboration, built on mutual trust and a shared vision of cultivating the next generation of air force personnel.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to expanding cooperation in various fields, including joint training programs, bilateral exercises, and multi-domain operational capabilities.General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu praised the PAF’s exceptional operational performance during recent conflicts with India, commending its high level of preparedness and steadfast defense of national sovereignty.He expressed a strong interest in understanding Pakistan’s multi-domain warfare strategies, taking pride in the PAF’s successful operational approaches.

The Turkish Air Force leadership also conveyed a sincere desire to learn from Pakistan’s experiences during the recent military standoff with India, aiming to enhance its own doctrines and readiness.The visiting dignitary expressed admiration for the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park and appreciated the indigenous aerospace innovations and technological advancements achieved by the PAF, recognizing their importance in operational independence.
