HARARE: In the final of the tri-nation series, Pakistan Under-19s defeated Zimbabwe by 9 wickets to claim the trophy.
The final match was played in Harare, where Zimbabwe, the host nation, batted first and scored 158 runs before being all out in the 45th over. For Pakistan, Umar Zaib took 4 wickets and Abdul Subhan took 2 wickets.
In response, Pakistan Under-19s chased down the target of 159 runs in just 17 overs, losing only one wicket, thanks to the record-breaking innings of opener Samir Manhas. Samir Manhas scored a lightning-fast century off just 42 balls, becoming the fastest century in youth One Day International history.
Before this, the record was held by India’s Vebho Suryavanshi, who scored a century off 52 balls against England last July.In the final, Samir Manhas played an explosive innings of 114 runs off 51 balls, featuring 17 fours and 5 sixes. Additionally, Muhammad Shayan remained not out with 38 runs. Thus, Pakistan Under-19s secured the victory over Zimbabwe Under-19s by 9 wickets, winning the tri-series title.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Khan congratulated the Pakistan Under-19 team on winning the series in Zimbabwe, saying that the team’s passion and skill have made the nation proud.
