WEB DESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia, set to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
The matches are scheduled for 29 January, 31 January and 1 February, with all games commencing at 4:00 PM local time.
Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi make their return to the T20I lineup after missing the recent series in Sri Lanka. Shadab Khan, following his comeback in the previous series, retains his spot and will bolster a formidable spin-bowling group featuring Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Usman Tariq.
The squad, along with the team’s support staff, will assemble in Lahore on Saturday, 24 January, with preparations kicking off the next day. Australia will touch down in Pakistan on Wednesday, 28 January. This series marks their second T20I visit to Pakistan following a single T20I match held at the same venue in April 2022.
The finalized 16-member roster includes Salman Ali Agha as captain, alongside players Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay , Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan , Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, and Usman Tariq.
