Pakistan Welcomes Creation of New UN Counter Terrorism Office

New York (June 25, 2017): Pakistan has welcomed the creation of the new UN Counter Terrorism Office and announced to provide all possible assistance to it.

Speaking at a meeting of the UN Advisory Board, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the world body Maleeha Lodhi expressed hope that  the new office will help bring better coordination and coherence across the UN system on counter terrorism.

Maleeha also congratulated Russia on the appointment of their veteran diplomat Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov as Under-Secretary General for the newly established office.
