Pakistan, West Indies to play first ODI today

GUYANA: Pakistan and West Indies will play first One-day International match of the series today at Providence Stadium, Guyana.    

The match is scheduled to start at 06:30 pm today. Sarfraz Ahmed will lead the national team in the three-match series. Pakistan needed to win the series for direct World Cup qualification.

 Earlier, the Green Shirts won the T20 series with 3-1 against the Caribbean. The second and third ODI will be played on April 9 and 11 respectively at the same venue.

Pakistan is on eight position in the ICC ranking, holding the last direct qualification slot for the 2019 World Cup. While West Indies on the ninth position in the ICC ranking. Only eight top ranking teams will directly qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
