NEW YORK: Under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party and head of the country’s diplomatic delegation, Pakistani officials are engaged in a series of high-profile meetings aimed at highlighting what they describe as Indian nefarious intentions and aggressive actions.
Sources confirm that, the delegation, which includes senior diplomats such as Sherry Rehman, Hina Rabbani Khar, Jaleel Abbas Jilani, and Musadik Malik, is scheduled to meet with ambassadors from the five permanent and nine non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
The purpose of these discussions is to brief American officials and other international stakeholders on India’s recent provocation and aggressive posture.
In addition to engagements with U.S. officials, the Pakistani team plans to inform the UN Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly, and members of the Security Council about their concerns. They will also brief representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), emphasizing the regional implications of India’s actions.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also slated to participate in and address a conference organized by the Middle East Institute, a prominent US-based think tank, on June 5. The event aims to draw international attention to Pakistan’s perspective on regional security issues and Indian provocations.
