Pakistani embassy sent reports to government of sinking of migrants

Athens: Pakistani embassy has sent its report to the government regarding the sinking of migrant boats and the resulting deaths.

The Pakistani Embassy in Athens has submitted a comprehensive investigation report regarding the tragic migrant boat accident that occurred in Greek sea limit to the Government of Pakistan.

This report aims to provide detailed insights into the circumstances surrounding the incident and seeks to facilitate further action and support for the affected families. The embassy continues to closely monitor the situation and is committed to assisting those impacted by this unfortunate event.

According to a recent report, three boats experienced an accident within the maritime boundaries of Greece after departing from the Tabruk area in Libya. One of the boats carried 45 passengers, including six individuals from Pakistan, all of whom were successfully rescued. The second boat had five people on board, and they were all also rescued. Additionally, the third boat was reported to have 47 individuals, including Pakistani nationals, all of whom were likewise saved during the rescue operation.

A report indicates that there were 83 individuals aboard the third boat, comprising 76 Pakistanis, 3 Bangladeshis, 2 Egyptians, and 2 Sudanese drivers. Of those on board, 39 people were rescued, with 36 of them being Pakistani nationals.

According to the report, 39 people aboard the third boat are still missing, including 35 Pakistani’s, while the rescued persons include the Sudanese driver of the boat, who has been arrested.

The report further states that, dead bodies of 5 persons were found on board the third boat who are Pakistani’s, they belong to Sialkot, Gujarat and Mandi Bahauddin, 4 of the 5 persons have been identified as Sufyan, Rehman Ali, Haji Ahmed and Abid. While one body could not be identified.
