RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stated that the establishment of the newly formed Defence Forces Headquarters represents a significant structural transformation aimed at enhancing the joint operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces.
These remarks were made while addressing the service chiefs and senior officers during a ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.
Field Marshal Munir highlighted that the rising and evolving security challenges demand Pakistan further strengthen its multi-domain operations through an integrated tri-services framework. He stressed that the formation of the Defence Forces Headquarters is a crucial step towards achieving this objective.
He clarified that while each military branch will maintain its unique identity and operational readiness, the Defence Forces Headquarters will ensure seamless coordination and synchronization of operations across the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Delivering a stern message to India, Field Marshal Munir warned New Delhi against any miscalculations, cautioning that Pakistan’s response to future provocations would be even swifter and more decisive.
On regional security, he stated that a clear ultimatum has been communicated to the Taliban regime, urging them to choose between supporting the outlawed Khawarij elements or fostering peaceful relations with Pakistan.
Reiterating Pakistan’s dedication to peace, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed that the nation strives for harmony in the region but will never compromise its sovereignty, territorial integrity, or national determination.
He concluded by asserting that the idea of Pakistan remains unwavering, fortified by the steadfast faith and resolve of the country’s armed forces and a united nation.
