ISLAMABAD: Shafqat Ali Khan reiterated that, Pakistan’s missile and defense capabilities are designed primarily for national security and deterrence. He highlighted the strength and resilience of Pakistan’s defense system, affirming its crucial role in safeguarding the nation.

During the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that, Pakistan’s missile and defense capabilities are meant for national security and stability. He emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear program is completely secure and invulnerable. He also mentioned that our missile technology is intended for the defense of the country and is part of our defense strategy through deterrence.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that Pakistan and the United States maintain strong relations across various sectors. He noted that a recent meeting between the U.S. chargé d’affaires and the Pakistan Foreign Office was part of regular diplomatic engagements.

He clarified that there is no official confirmation regarding any U.S. travel restrictions on Pakistani citizens, stating that such reports are merely speculative. He also mentioned that the U.S. State Department has denied any claims about restrictions on Pakistani travelers. Concerning visa issues, he reiterated that the recent meeting was part of routine diplomatic discussions, and the summoning of diplomats is a standard practice, not something unusual.

Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized the enduring and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and the United States, a bond that has developed over several decades. He also noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, where he met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Pakistan.

The spokesperson firmly condemned the recent Israeli attacks on Gaza, labeling them as violations of ceasefire efforts. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for a two-state solution, affirming that the country’s stance on Israel remains unchanged. Additionally, he addressed reports circulating on social media about individuals allegedly traveling to Israel, clarifying that the Foreign Office does not have any official information regarding such visits.
