Islamabad (June 14, 2017): Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman has called Pakistan’s membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group a must for lasting peace and stability in the region and the world.
Speaking at a seminar titled “NSG Membership of Non-NPT States: Opportunities and Challenges” here the Air Chief attributed the nuclearization of the South Asian region and in particular Pakistan to the desire of its much more bigger and populated neighbour to acquire nuclear arsenal.
Nuclearization of Pakistan had brought, to some extent, peace and stability within the region, he added.
Earlier, the speakers said Pakistan fulfilled criterion for the NSG membership as its credentials were much stronger than India.
