ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) on Friday announced not to support the bill submitted by joint opposition in Senate for legislation to probe into Panama Leaks’ scandel.
Talking to media outside Parliament’s House, ANP spokesman Senator Zahid Khan said that offshore companies of all Pakistanis should be probed instead of just those named in Panama Papers’ leaks. He said that ANP had reservations over the Bill submitted by joint opposition in the Senate for legislation on Panama issue. He said that a comprehensive legislation was needed to curb corruption in the country.
He said that ANP had constituted a 5-member committee for anti-corruption legislation in the Parliament and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The committee will comprise Zahid Khan, Bushra Gohar, Latif Afridi and Afrasiab Khattak, which will be headed by MNA Ghulam Ahmed Bilour.
He said that the committee will work out an strategy after going through all bills submitted by different parties .
