ISLAMABAD: Former Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt on Monday filed Vakalatnama (power of attorney) in the Supreme Court on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryum Safdar, Captain Safdar (retd) and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the Panama leaks case.
A larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali will hear the identical petitions filed in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister and others whose names appeared in Panama Papers leaks as owners of offshore bank accounts.
Butt has filed the power on behalf of the Prime Minister and other in the petitions filed by PTI chief Imran Khan and AML chief Sheikh Rashid.
It is to be mentioned here that the PTI besides filing the petition on the Panama issue, is also going to lock down Islamabad on Nov 2 to press Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf to resign for his/families alleged involvement in the scandal.
