MULTAN: An appaling verdict of a panchayat in Multan city unearthed on Monday where it decided to punish a man accused of rape by making him run naked around the area.
According to details, the incident took place in Cantt Station where a man named Jahangir was caught allegedly attempting to rape a kid.
The residents, after catching the suspect, called for the matter to be taken into panchayat despite opting for any legal action, agreeing to make the accused around the area without any clothing.
Consequently, the man complied by the panchayat’s orders and was set free.
On the other hand, police have not initiated any action against those who made the offender run naked in the area over the judgement of an illegal panchayat.
