Islamabad: (February 26, 2018) Political parties have discussed their reservations regarding the new delimitation with Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday. They stated that delimitation should be made on the basis of voter lists instead of census.
The meeting was held in Islamabad in the chair of Chief Election Commissioner and attended by different political parties, who presented their reservations regarding the delimitation and demanded to make the basis of delimitation on the voter lists rather than census. 
Election Commission will complete the process of delimitation of constituencies and revision of electoral rolls in the first week of May this year.
The Chief Election Commissioner said the Commission is discharging its responsibilities as per law and the constitution and will ensure free, fair and transparent elections.
The delegates were also apprised of the special steps being taken by the Commission for the issuance of Identity Cards and registration of women voters.
The parliamentary party members appreciated the efforts of the Commission and assured their every possible support.
While talking to media after the meeting, N-League Leaders said that Election Commission has stated they won’t bring any change in areas, where population has slightly increased. They further said that the objections will be raised after the final lists are posted on March 05.
PML N leader Zahid Hamid said we have proposed that maximum voter registration should be ensured.
He said it was also proposed that special campaigns should be launched in areas where votes of women are less or not registered.

Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz said we will take up the issue of constituency delimitation in the meeting of Central Working Committee tomorrow.
While expressing dissatisfaction on delimitation process, PTI, Pashtoon Khuwa Milli Awami Party and MQM Pakistan said that they are not satisfied with the process. According to law there should not be any difference of more than 10 percent of voters in any area, they added.
