Rawalpindi: As many as five people were killed in a road accident on M-2 motorway Chakri Interchange as a private company passenger bus fell into the deep gorge after driver of the bus lost control of the bus owing to slippery road.
Motorway police and a rescue team reached the accident sport after receving information while the injured were provided first aid.
The passenger bus of the private company was on its way to Multan from Rawalpindi while the bus driver could not maintained its control on the vehicle owing to slippery road and it fell into the ravine.
As per the motorway police as a whole five passengers were died and 41 sustained injuries. Out of which 22 were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Chakwal, 8 were transported to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital Islamabad while six were admitted to the DHQ hospital Rawalpindi.
Four bodies were transfered to the DHQ hospital Rawalpindi while one body was shifted to the DHQ hospital Chakwal.
According to injured passengers the driver of the bus despite lashing of rains and slippery roads was driving the bus with speed.
