KARACHI: The passing out parade of the 124th Midshipmen and 32nd Short Service Commission Course took place at the Pakistan Naval Academy on Saturday with traditional military formalities.
Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Bin Ali, Commander Royal Bahrain Naval Force, attended as chief guest, welcomed by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Cadets saluted Admiral Ashraf during the parade, while Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Bin Ali inspected the proceedings and presented medals to top-performing cadets.
Officer Cadet Umar Mukhtar from Pakistan and Officer Cadet Al-Dhahabi Fahad Hissam Fareed from Iraq received the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal. Midshipman Shahab Ahmed received the Academy Dirk, while Midshipman Muhammad Uzair Abbas earned the Honorary Sword for best overall performance.
Commandant Commodore Zia-ur-Rehman highlighted the academy’s legacy of producing skilled naval officers. Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Bin Ali expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the strong bond between Bahrain and Pakistan. He noted his status as an alum of the academy and encouraged cadets to serve their nations with commitment, acknowledging Bahrain’s ties with Pakistan and the academy’s excellence in training cadets from friendly nations.
