Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board has accepted the resignation of Chief Selector Azmamul Haque. The conflict of interest investigation against Inzamam-ul-Haq will continue.
The Chief Selector had offered to resign after the inquiry but the board did not accept it, the resignation was accepted after the his interview on a TV show. Tuseef Ahmad Abouri was appointed as the chief selector.
The former chief selector resigned on October 30 rather than face a conflict of interest investigation. The board did not accept his resignation. According to Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB), Inzamam-ul-Haq spoke against the board policy in a TV show. According to the rules, he should not have had such discussions until six months after his resignation
The former chief selector said he no longer wanted to work with the board. Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB) had appointed Tauseef Ahmed as the interim chief selector of the senior team a day ago. After the interview on a TV show, Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation was accepted. Wajahatullah Wasti will be included in the selection committee and will be the chief selector of the junior team. Toseef Ahmed’s first responsibility will be to select the team for the three-test tour of Australia.
