Islamabad: The Opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has issued show cause notice to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) in which the PPP has been asked to clarify on getting the government senators votes to become opposition leader in the senate.
A meeting of PDM was held before the senate session in the chair of PML-N parliamentary leader in Sente Senator Azam Tazeer Tarrar to discuss division of the PDM parties on the opposition leader in senate.
PML-N, JUI-F, PKMAP,National Party and BNP Mengal senators were in attendance.
Shahid Khqan Abbassi, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi, Tahir Bazenjo, Mussadiq Malik, Kamran Murtaza, Mulana Atta Ur Rehman also attended the Independant Opposition meeting.
Talking to media after attending the meeting, secretary general of the PDM Shahid Khaqan Abbassi said that show cause notices have been issued to PPP and ANP and asked them why they got the government votes.
Shahid Khaqan Abbassi said that the PDM had postponed the long march and its purpose was to give time to PPP so that the party could informed the PDM after asking its Central Executive Committee (CEC) should they tender resignation from assemblies or not .
On the other hand, Chairman Senate also reached to the meeting of Independent Opposition Senators and he called on them.
