LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for widespread rainfall across Punjab between March 25 and 27, warning authorities to stay prepared for possible disruptions.
According to the Meteorological Department, most districts of Punjab are likely to receive rainfall during this period. Additionally, Murree, Galiyat, and other mountainous areas are expected to experience rain and snowfall.
The affected districts include Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sialkot.
In southern Punjab, the rainfall is likely to affect Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Layyah, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan.
In response to the forecast, PDMA has alerted local administrations and rescue agencies across Punjab to stay on high alert and ensure safety measures are in place. The authority has urged residents to exercise caution, particularly in hilly and low-lying areas prone to flooding
