ISLAMABAD: The accumulation of unresolved cases at the Supreme Court of Pakistan has once again intensified, with the total pending litigations reaching 57,153, according to reports.
Initially, when Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi assumed his position, approximately 60,000 cases were pending before the court. By March 2025, this figure had decreased to around 55,000. However, during the summer recess, the backlog has unfortunately grown again, reflecting the ongoing challenges faced by the judiciary in managing case loads.
