Karachi: People of Karachi paid a huge sum of Rs 850 million for just fines over violations of traffic rules in the year 2024.
The citizens paid as many as whopping amount of Rs 200 million on violations of wrong way.
On the other hand, traffic police conducted 1.157 million challan while most of the Callahan included vehicles numbers plates.
Traffic police solely conducted 2,21,000 Callahan over number plates and earned hefty amount of Rs 119.3 millions.
Similarly on breaking of signals as many as 1,96,000 challan were conducted while traffic police imposed fines of Rs 1204.9 millions.
Furthermore, 130,000 challan on no parking violations conducted and imposed fine of Rs 115.7 millions while Rs while 200000 challan conducted over overloading of vehicles and imposed fines of Rs 130.1 millions
The citizens paid Rs 220 millions fines over violation of one way and wrong way as the traffic police conducted 91,000 challan.
On non wearing of helmet during driving traffic police conducted 84,000 challan and fined Rs 42.4 million.
Traffic police fined Rs 53.1 million on installing fancy number plates.
Creating a huddle in the flow of traffic, the traffic police fined Rs 37.5 millions while fines of Rs 10.7 million imposed over lack of speedometer .
