Lahore: People referendum will decide whether to pay the electricity bills or not said Chief of Jamat Islami Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman .
Addressing a presser at the JI central headquarter in Mansorah Lahore, JI Chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that he is announcing a second phase of movement “give rights to people” haq do awam ko.
This movement is to give people relief , this is for electricity bills, prices of petrol , taxes on salaries, he said.
Hafiz Naeem demanded that give small vehicles to the government ministers and end their privileges.
He said that billions of rupees are being paid to International Power Producers (IPPs), they produced electricity but not used whose prices are being paid by the masses.
He said that on the one hand taxes receiving from salaried class and on the other hand some IPPs have been given exemption on income tax worth of thousands of billion.
The JI chief said that the people are being paid bills in the form of inflation, flour, sugar, electricity bills.
He said that taxes are imposed to the masses so that IPPs and feudal lords being given tax exemption.
He said that children are getting health facilities adding that the system which is ruining the society we will not be quite over it.
The JI Chief said that the government brokered agreement owing to the JI protest that they will accept conditions in the 45 days.
The government said that they will prepare reports regarding the IPPs which will give relief to masses.
During this period the JI didn’t sit at the house but it remained in contact with the government and held eight rallies all together.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehaman said that on the call of the JI a peaceful and successful shutter down strike conducted which created national unity.
He said that the JI is starting a new movement over end of 45 days while announcing the future strategy he said from September 29 a large protests will be staged in different cities.
He said that from October 1 to October 7 a week of people of Gaza and Labanon will be named. He said that from October 7 new resistance movement will be started in which protest sit-in and rallies will be brought out.
