Islamabad: A member of the Judicial Commission (JC), advocate Akhtar Hussain, has penned a letter to Chief Justice Supreme Court (SC), Umar Atta Bandiyal over the matter of the JC meeting for the appointments of judges in the SC.
Advocate Akhtar Hussain in his letter wrote that a set of amendments must needed in the JC rules.
The member of the JC suggested that the JC rules be amended under a committee in a Chair of the most senior judge of the SC with in a four week time.
Expressing his opinion, he said that an audio recording and minutes of the meeting of the JC, which was held on July 28, should not have been made public.
He said that reports of personal differences among members of the JC are alarming.
The advocate said that it is responsibility of the CJ to remove apprehensions of all the members of the JC.
Akhtar Hussain said that he had read the letters of justice Qazi Faiz Essa, justice Sardar Tariq, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and attorney general.
He said that the JC meeting should not be ended on demand of minority members of the JC.
He said that all the decisions should be taken in the meeting with consultation of all the members of the JC.
