Islamabad(July 16, 2018): PML-N Senator Pervaiz Rasheed on Monday demanded same relief for the former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar Awan as former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur had been given.
Talking to the newsmen outside the Islamabad High Court, Pervez Rasheed said that the court earlier upheld that no candidate should be barred from participating in the electoral process till the July 25 polls are over and this was the basis on which Zardari and Talpur were granted relief.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader urged, “Nawaz, Maryam, Capt (retd) Safdar and Qamar-ul-Islam Raja should be granted the same relief.”
“Injustice was done to Qamar-ul-Islam Raja in favour of Chaudhry Nisar,” he added.
Meanwhile, Legal counsel of Maryam Nawaz, Amjad Pervaiz while speaking on the occasion said the accountability court verdict against the Sharif family was not in accordance with the law.Money-laundering case: Never placed Zardari, Faryal on ECL, clarifies SC
“The accountability court’s verdict is in contradiction with the law and declaring it void would serve justice,” Pervaiz said.
“Our case is very strong and on merit. We are right and we hope to get some relief,” he added.Earlier today, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar submitted appeals in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against Avenfield reference verdict.
The petitioners had requested the court to annul the decision pertaining to their imprisonment, fine, disqualification and forfeiture of property.

All the three accused should be released on bail until the final verdict, it added.
It is to be mentioned here that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar were convicted and sentenced to prison in absentia for ten years, seven years and one year respectively, in Avenfield verdict that is likely to further disrupt an already chaotic campaign for national elections this month.

Maryam Nawaz and Captain (r) Safdar, who were candidates for the forthcoming general elections were also disqualified from contesting elections for 10 years each.
The sentence and a fine of 8 million pounds, or $10.6 million, came almost a year after Supreme Court removed Sharif from office and less than five months after the court barred him from holding office for life.Nawaz Sharif was convicted under section 9(a)(5) of the NAB ordinance.
The case stemmed from the Panama Papers leak that disclosed expensive and undeclared property owned by the Sharif family in London.
