PESHAWAR: A 45-second CCTV clip has emerged, showing the precise moment a powerful explosion occurred outside the FC headquarters in Peshawar. The footage highlights the force of the blast and its devastating consequences. The sound of the explosion echoed across a vast area, amplifying the panic and confusion that unfolded during the incident.
New details emerge in initial report
A preliminary probe into the suicide bombing at the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar has been concluded, revealing critical details about how the attackers breached this high-security site.
Initial police reports indicate that the first attacker reached the main gate of the FC headquarters on foot via Golden Mosque Road, camouflaged under a shawl to hide his explosives. He detonated himself at the gate, leading to the martyrdom of three FC personnel. Remarkably, despite the ferocity of the blast, the main gate withstood the explosion.
Shortly after this initial attack, two more assailants—dressed in shalwar kameez and armed with rifles and hand grenades—accessed the premises through a side gate. They advanced toward a motorcycle stand within the compound’s perimeter, opening fire. FC forces swiftly retaliated, neutralizing both attackers within 30 to 40 meters of the main gate.

Authorities have confirmed that all three attackers were Afghan nationals, with weapons and ammunition recovered from their possession. It is believed that their primary mission was to take hostages, particularly considering senior officers were present in the headquarters and a parade was ongoing at the time of the assault.
Thanks to the quick and decisive actions of FC personnel, the attackers were prevented from penetrating deeper into the compound. The site was declared secured shortly after the incident.
Officials have stated that this was part of a larger terror scheme, which has now been successfully thwarted. Investigations are continuing.
