Unidentified assailants opened fire on Professor Dr Asmat Ullah of Hayatabad Medical Complex and injured him.
Aafter the incident all the doctors boycotted services in all departments of the hospital except emergency services.
He was targeted in Hayatabad area of Peshawar in morning and was shifted to the hospital in serious conditions. According to doctors of the hospital Dr Asamatullah is in critical condition.
After receiving the information of the attack on the doctor the large number of doctors fraternity reached the hospital and protested against the police.
Addressing a press conference at the hospital the president of young doctors association, Dr Shah Sawar condemned the attack on Dr Asmatullah and demanded to the government to provide protection to senior doctors.
The association presient also announced to boycott all their work in various departments of the hospital except the emergency services. While he also has convened general body meeting to discuss the next strategy.
