MULTAN: Peshawar Zulmi defeated Multan Sultans by 5 runs in the thrilling encounter to claim their first win of the events, Multan Sultan suffer their first defeat.
In the match being played at Multan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by five runs after a thrilling encounter. Multan Sultans were given a target of 180 runs to win the match but they gave up just five steps away. In the last over, Multan needed twenty-two runs to win, out of which sixteen runs were scored in four balls, but after two wickets fell in the last two balls, the victory fell to Peshawar Zalmi.
On behalf of Multan, David Malan scored five runs, Yasir Khan scored forty-three runs and Reza Hendricks scored twenty-eight runs, Peshawar Zalmi’s Arif Yaqub took three wickets while Luke Wood, Naveen-ul-Haq and Salman Irshad took two wickets each.
Earlier, Peshawar batted first and scored 189 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted twenty overs. Haseebullah scored 37 runs, Babar Azam 31 runs and Rovmin Powell scored 23 runs. Multan’s Muhammad Ali, Osama Mir and David Valley took two wickets each. Luke Wood was named man of the match.
