Lahore (July 25, 2017) A petition seeking contempt of court proceeding against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore Registry of Supreme Court.
A citizen Syed Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi has filed the petition.
The petitioner said that the Prime Minister did commit contempt of court in a speech after inaugurating Lawari Tunnel in Chitral.
He added that no one was beyond law and constitution.
The petitioner said that the Prime Minister used such words in his speech which clearly fall under contempt of court.
He pleaded the court to initiate contempt of court proceeding against the Prime Minister.
He further requested the court to also disqualify the Prime Minister for committing contempt of court.
