Petitions Filed For Ban Against Proclaimed Offenders Speeches Taken Back

Islamabad: A batch of petitions filed in Islamabad High Court against a ban on the speeches of proclaimed offender have been taken back.

The IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the set of petitions against prohibition on the address of the proclaimed offender.

A counsel of human rights and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ) Salman Akram Raja appeared before the court and opined that they wanted to with draw the petitions and the petitions will be filed on a new basis.

Chief Justices Athar Minallah remarked that stalwarts of journalists were included in the petitioners but after with drawl of the petitions, not right impression was given.

Salman Akram Raja apprised the court that we don’t want to give such an impression that we became petitioner after becoming someone agent adding that we will file petitions again on a new basis and in broader perspective.

The court accepting the request to with draw the petitions disposed of the case.
